A bit of a windfall
Amazingly, at the end of one of my classes today, I discovered $1.02 on the floor. 97 pennies and one nickel. So, that brings my total to $5.04.
There's a rumor going around that Alex MacMiller strategically placed these pennies on the ground, but the young man did not take direct responsibility for it. If he did place these pennies for me to find, that's extremely generous. If not, I suppose I found myself especially lucky today.
With your iPhones and Facebooks, it's easy to expect immediate gratification, but not everybody can have a diamond encrusted birthday cake like Li'l Wayne. So, it's important to take advantage of the smaller opportunities...each time you capitalize on a small opportunity, like picking up a penny, you pave the way for a larger opportunity.
Furthermore, I saw that Jon Gosselin, of Jon and Kate Plus Eight, put a sign outside of his house warning that no cameras were welcome on his lawn anymore. Well, it must have been hard for some people to take that sign seriously because he misspelled penalty; he wrote "under penelty of law." So, in keeping with my mission of helping the youth of America master the English language, you should all know how to spell "penalty" now.

The total is $4.02. I found 6 cents in the classroom today. If I would have had 98 more cents, I could have worn denim today!
